Discovering Taghazout and Paradise Valley: A Moroccan Coastal Adventure

Taghazout and Paradise Valley, nestled along Morocco’s southern coast, were the grand finale of our three-week journey across this enchanting country. These destinations stood out as highlights of our adventure, leaving lasting impressions on me.

As someone who relishes outdoor activities and beach life, I was thrilled to explore the laid-back surf town of Taghazout. I envisioned a mellow, friendly atmosphere with a vibrant, hippy vibe. However, the reality was somewhat different. Taghazout, while charming, didn’t quite match the idyllic descriptions I’d heard. It wasn’t disappointing, but it didn’t have the distinct vibe I had anticipated.

Many travelers have dubbed Taghazout Morocco’s best-kept secret, but it seems that times have changed.

The most notable issue in Taghazout was the rampant construction. New hotels were springing up everywhere along the beachfront, bringing with them dust and noise. This development is altering the landscape of this once serene surf haven.

I couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret for not visiting Taghazout sooner. The proliferation of large hotels will inevitably transform the town’s unique hippy surf culture. Despite this, the central area of Taghazout remains quaint and incredibly relaxed. We still had an amazing few days there, and I’m excited to share my guide to Taghazout, including recommendations on where to stay, eat, and activities to enjoy, like a trip to Paradise Valley.

Paradise Valley, just a 45-minute drive from Taghazout, is an ideal day trip destination. Its proximity makes it a perfect extension to your Taghazout visit, though it can also be easily reached from Agadir.
