Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Erfoud (via Ziz Valley)
Begin your journey south from Fes toward the Sahara Desert. The drive takes approximately 6.5 hours, passing through lush valleys, cedar forests, and serene lakes in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Enjoy a picnic lunch in Midelt Nature Reserve. Continue through the palm groves and fortified villages of the Ziz Valley before arriving in Erfoud by late afternoon. Relax and spend the night here, preparing for your desert adventure.
Overnight: Hotel Xaluca Maadid, Erfoud
Day 2: Erfoud – Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi Dunes)
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Erfoud before heading to Merzouga. Stop in the sacred city of Rissani to visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Sherif and explore the ruins of Ksar Abbar. Continue to the village of Khamlia, famed for its vibrant Gnawa music traditions. After lunch near the dunes, embark on a one-hour camel trek to watch the spectacular sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Day 3: Erg Chebbi Dunes – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge

On the way, visit the stunning Todra Gorge, with its soaring 300-meter canyon walls. Explore the canyon and nearby Berber villages, including the town of Tinjdad.
